Chinese New Year Amazing Race - Ang Bao Chase

In our exclusively released Ang Bao Chase, SAF HQ 3rd Division came together to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) as well as the familiar family spirit of “reunion”. 

This year’s race was all about collecting Ang Baos! (Well …yes and no). While without a doubt, the main aim of the race was to bring out the spirit of the SAF, the race was centered on completing tasks in hopes of being the top Ang Bao Collector! 

Kicking start bright and early in the morning at Kreta Ayer CC, the catchy CNY music filled the hall, heightening everyone’s festive spirits. Little did the participants know, that amidst their casual chats, the real game had already begun! A mini scavenger hunt announced by the emcee sent the participants on the hunt for their Ang Baos within the hall! People even came up to those manning the registration booth asking them to ‘surrender’ the Ang Baos!

With the crowd starting to stir, various groups worked hard at deciphering the clues in their official Ang Bao Chase booklets to head to the respective locations and tasks! As the race is related to CNY, the teams will be exploring Chinatown as the main heritage area. Among those tasks are special festive activities such as Chinese calligraphy, tongue twisters, Lo Hei Quiz and even a CNY dance challenge! As videos and photographs were sent in, smiles of the SAF personnel could be seen etched on their faces. The competitive teams fought against time (and each other) and sent in many tear-jerking moments that were sure to be memorable.
